Hi Gals! Today I have a Liz Lisa haul! All of these items are from the secondhand shop Wanboo! This shop carries many 109 brands and is super easy to order from by using Rakuten Global Market.
Liz Lisa Long Sleeve Blouse (1,400 yen)
This top is so nice! It came with the tags as well, which is always good. The blouse is perfect for summer and has cute lace detailing!
Liz Lisa Off The Shoulder Dress (1,200 yen)
This dress reminded me of the older Liz Lisa items that had a bohemian look to them, which I really love. This dress is in great condition, the only downside is that it is a bit short on me. I usually don't have a problem with dresses and skirts being too short. OTL
Liz Lisa Beige Summer Knit (1,380 yen)
I thought this top looked really unique but also wearable, plus the bows on the shoulders are super cute! I really like this top, but I don't know what to coordinate with it yet.
Hello gals! Today I'm gonna be talking about nails! Because of my job, I cannot go to a nail salon and get gel or acrylic done, because I cannot take those nails off when I go into work. But, I can wear glue on nails! I get most of my nails from shops on etsy, and I recently got a set from the shop NailedItByChelsey.
Some nail sets from the shop.
This shop has many different designs to choose from, and can be worn in many different styles of gyaru. The reason that this shop is awesome though, is because of the price of the nails. A set of nails is only around $10
My nail set from NailedItByChelsey
The nails I got are so adorable, and different from what I would usually wear. The coral/orange fits summer better than a pastel pink that I would usually get, but the rose and bow details add a girly touch! The quality of these nails is amazing, and the colors are perfect. You can find this nail set here!
Happy August everyone! Today I have a post that is all about terms that gyaru use, and what these words and phrases mean. This post will be very helpful if you are a newbie to gyaru and are wanting to learn more about the style.
Coord- Coord is short for coordinate. You will usually see this word on a post or picture that features a gal's outfit. This word can be spelled differently as code.
Make- Make is short for makeup. If a gal is showing off her coord and make, this means she is showing her makeup and outfit.
Brand- Brand is Japanese clothing brands that are popular among gyaru. Most brand is featured in shibuya 109 and is worn in gyaru magazines. Some gyaru brands include D.I.A, Ghosts of Harlem, Liz Lisa, and Cocolulu.
Gaijin- A gaijin gyaru is a gyaru that is not japanese. Gaijin is the Japanese word for foreigner.
Purikura- Purikura is a japanese photo booth that is very popular among gals. You have probably seen pictures taken in purikura booths before. Purikura photos can be edited to look very cute and decorated with adorable stickers and writing.
Example of purikura
ParaPara- This is a style of dance that became popular in the 90's and also among gyaru. This type of dance is accompanied by European techno music.
Example of parapara
Circles- A gyaru circle is a group of gyaru that get together to either casually hang out, take purikura, etc. or they get together to plan events and do parapara. Two very popular gyaru circles are angeleek (as seen above in video) and Black Diamond, which is the most popular kuro gyaru circle at the moment.
Scans- A scan is a spread from a gyaru magazine. Scans are great sources of makeup and outfit inspiration, and many gyaru blogs post magazine scans to share with other gyaru that may not be able to get a physical copy of the mag.
Sujimori- Sujimori is a hairstyle that is mostly seen in kuro gyaru. This hairstyle is voluminous and is sectioned off into smaller strands to give more detail to the look. This hairstyle is very extravagant and a distinctive hairstyle in gyaru.
Example of Sujimori
Agepoyo- This word means super excited, and can be used at any point where you would have high energy. This word is the most popular among the "poyo" words. Gyaru created many slang words that usually ended in poyo, to make them sound cuter. Agepoyo is the one you will hear the most.
Comm- Comm is short for community. So when referring to the gyaru community, it is typical to use the word comm.
That is all for now! I hope this post was helpful! I am planning on doing more informational gyaru posts, as I have researched gyaru for many years and consider myself a bit of an expert..
